Bryce Harper was born on October 16th, 1992 to Ron and Sherilyn Harper. During an interview, it was revealed that Ron worked as an ironworker for over 25 years. Bryce says that his Dad taught him about hard work and helped him develop a strong work ethic.
Bryce has an older brother, Bryan Harper, who spent 8 seasons in the Washington Nationals organization. Bryan never ended up making it to the Majors though.
In December of 2016, Bryce married Kayla Varner in San Diego. Varner is a former soccer player who played for both Brigham Young University and Ohio State. Their wedding reception included over 270 guests.
In August of 2019, Bryce and Kayla welcomed their first child, Krew Aron Harper.
Contracts & Career Earnings
In 2019, Harper signed a 13-year contract with the Philadelphia Phillies worth around $330 million dollars. At the time, this was the richest contract in the history of North American sports.
